About Leavitt-Weaver
Since the inception of their company, Leavitt-
Weaver, Inc., in 1976, designers Craig Leavitt
and Stephen Weaver have found life in the often competitive field
of interior design to be one opportunity after another.
Based in California's Central Valley, this dynamic team is constantly
taking the design world by storm, decorating interiors for some
of the world's most influential people. Among their impressive
list of clientele is the Getty family for whom Leavitt-Weaver
has done a wide variety of residential and commercial work.
With an extensive list of projects to their name that are as
innovative as they are prestigious Craig Leavitt and Stephen Weaver
are known for their distinct sense of style and originality.
However, despite their accomplishments, Leavitt-Weaver boasts
no defining look. Their design creations are separately based
on the partners interpretation of the client's personality. As
a result, each interior is unique in and of itself – a personal
testimony to the client's lifestyle.
For both Craig Leavitt and Stephen Weaver, style is the "by-product
of living." They firmly believe that the minute style becomes
a memorized text, it is no longer effective. "Our clients
are attracted to us because of our novel understanding of interior
fashion," explains Leavitt. "They stay with us because
we help them to identify their own tastes, allowing their individual
character to shine through. When devising an architectural plan,
we encourage the client to express his own vision of what the
finished environment should be and take it from there." Asked
if Leavitt-Weaver's influence can be felt in a design, they chuckled
and modestly note that, "our trademark is a nuance, not an
obvious formula."
In 1988, Leavitt-Weaver took their successful endeavors a step
further. Frustrated with combing design resources for the perfect
chair or coffee table, Leavitt-Weaver began creating furniture
pieces to fit an individual scheme and soon other decorating professionals
were asking them to do the same for their own clients. At this time the firm brought in business partner Len Revelli, who was instrumental in restructuring the business at Leavitt-Weaver, in addition to developing viable markets for the luxuriant collection of furniture. Based on the traditionally
abstract Modern period, Leavitt-Weaver pieces can stand alone
in an artistic sense or, like a chameleon, blend in with an existing
theme. The collection introduces new elements each year and has
found great acclaim with designers and furniture enthusiasts alike.
